Currently running programs at Lawrenceville

1. One-on-one individual tutoring:

Includes GPA management by subject, homework management, and review of Projects or Internal Assessments (IAs).

2. Subject-specific tutoring for the International Baccalaureate (IB) program.

3. Advanced English One-on-One Class:

Reading and writing skills are the most essential prerequisites for taking the IB and AP courses. Even students who are proficient in English often fall short when it comes to analyzing and summarizing academic passages, and expressing their thoughts in writing. Thus, through a consistent process of reading, writing, and discussion, students will develop the ability to confidently and logically express their thoughts on any topic.

4. Math One-on-One & Group Classes:

Starting from 9th grade, the method and pace of studying mathematics should vary depending on a student's career aspirations, plans, and goals. Students who aim to study engineering, science, or economics need to study math more deeply and at a faster pace. Students considering business, humanities, or social sciences should study math in depth, but without being overly concerned about speed. Those who are considering arts or music should focus more on understanding overall concepts rather than in-depth studies. In this way, starting from 9th grade, students should study in line with their individual goals. Excelling in math is not the answer in every situation, and likewise, it may not be the answer to excel in math without any specific goals..

5. One-on-one Mathematics tutoring:

We structure the difficulty and progress of the math lessons based on the student's learning plan, with consistent progress up to the IB level (Targeting a score of 7 in all exams).

6. One-on-one Science tutoring:

For students who aim to study science subjects in depth in the IB program, we provide advanced lessons, experimental processes, and carry out research processes."

7. One-on-one International School Preparation:

We develop a study plan based on the desired grade level for admission, prepare students for English and Math exams required for the entrance tests, and provide basic English lessons for each subject area.

8.AP Statistics:

Statistics is the most important and essential subject in the upcoming era of AI. Therefore, even students studying the IB curriculum can showcase their strengths when applying to universities if they can score a 5 in AP Statistics. Moreover, there are many instances where basic knowledge of statistics is necessary when writing reports in the IB curriculum. Therefore, we highly recommend studying statistics.

9. One-on-one SAT/ACT Prep:

Test preparation is the basics of the basics when it comes to college applications. As these tests serve as an important measure for evaluating fundamental learning abilities at the university level, students should start preparing for these exams from the later part of the 9th grade.

10. Research One-on-One Program:

Research ability is one of the important measures used by universities to evaluate exceptional students today. It is not expected that high school students produce exceptionally advanced research. They certainly are not expected to produce work at the level of renowned academic journals. Research is not something that can be completed in a short period of time; universities look at a student's research process and outcomes to see how sincerely the student has studied the field. Therefore, this process must really be conducted by the student from start to finish. However, realistically, there are many difficulties in this process, and that's where we come in. We participate as the best supporter in the student-led research process, helping the student to move in the right direction through discussions with good materials.

IB 교육과정에서 "선행"은 중요한가요?

In the IB curriculum, prior knowledge is important for effective learning and understanding. Building on pre-existing knowledge forms a strong foundation for further exploration and development of new concepts and skills. Here are a few reasons why prior knowledge is crucial in the IB education:

Continuity of Learning:

Prior knowledge ensures a smooth transition between different levels and subjects within the curriculum. It allows students to connect new information with what they already know, making learning more meaningful and coherent.

Conceptual Understanding:

Building on prior knowledge helps students develop a deeper understanding of concepts. It allows them to see relationships, patterns, and connections across different topics, enhancing their ability to analyze and apply knowledge.

Critical Thinking:

Prior knowledge provides a basis for critical thinking. Students can evaluate information, make connections, and engage in higher-order thinking when they have a solid foundation of knowledge to draw upon.

Efficiency in Learning:

Having prior knowledge saves time and effort in the learning process. It enables students to grasp new concepts more quickly and effectively, as they can relate the new information to what they already know.

Confidence and Engagement:

Prior knowledge increases students' confidence and engagement in their learning. When they can actively contribute to discussions, ask meaningful questions, and make connections, they feel more empowered and motivated to learn.

Transdisciplinary Learning:

The IB curriculum encourages transdisciplinary learning, where students explore connections across different subject areas. Prior knowledge allows students to make interdisciplinary connections and see how concepts and skills can be applied in various contexts.

While prior knowledge is important, it's also important to note that the IB curriculum is designed to build knowledge progressively. Teachers support students in developing the necessary foundational knowledge as they progress through the curriculum. So, while prior knowledge is beneficial, it's not a requirement for entry into the IB, AP program. The curriculum is designed to provide a comprehensive education that develops knowledge, skills, and attitudes in a holistic manner.
